Carve a Creature Linocut
In this assignment you will use line as the main focus to carve a creature or animal of your choosing. Make sure that the lines follow the contour of the animal OR creature. Be creative. Pick from a dinosaur, a mythical creature, a bird, etc. Please, don't stay away from zebras, so we don't have forty of them. This assignment gives you the chance to determine lines that make forms, and sometimes when animals already have lines it can deter from the purpose we're drawing to accomplish.
The block you will carve on will be an 8x10 piece on linoleum, so make sure you animal/creature isn't too small or too big, however, we want it to fill the space adequately.
On an 8x10 piece of paper, draw out your creation, then map out your lines. Think about line width and placement. Remember, lines closer together will create more white in the cut than lines farther apart.
Don't take somebody's idea. I'll let you use a photo to draw from, but don't replicate somebody's linocut or a work of art that is already designed for to become a linocut. If somebody wrote a paper and you copied it it would be plagiarism, if you copy somebody's work it's cheating. You'll fail the assignment, so be cool, and be original.
Remember, have fun!

BAD EXAMPLES:
They do not cover the correct purpose of the assignment, which is to show line in the creature. All of them are cut out.
