Jim Dine (Due Oct. 19th)
Jim Dine is an American pop artist known for his charcoal tool drawings. In this technical breadth you will explore the medium of charcoal and select one hand tool to draw. Parts will be rendered out completely while others will have soften edges or not be rendered at all. Mark making in the background via charcoal will also be prominent.
Specifications:
Choose ONE hand tool. Not two, not three, ONE. Think of screwdrivers, pipe cutters, wrenches, etc.
You MAY NOT use an image from the internet. You need to take your own image for this.
Use only black charcoal (provided) and graphite (for mapping out the tool, because graphite and charcoal don't mix)
14"x17" paper (provided)
